Hey everyone, my name is Markus – I am a 3rd year CSC student.
I feel like my interests come and go like ocean currents – currently I am obsessed with motorcycling and have a couple track days booked that I am very excited about. I am trying to become better at taking advantage of the outdoor opportunities that Victoria has to offer, so lets put down hiking as an interest too. (I have been on one hike lol …)
My partner in crime is called George, and here is a picture of him.
George and I are both very keen to learn about this course. We chose EDCI 337 due to having an interest in education, but not really knowing enough about it. We felt this course was a good starting point to seeing what education courses are about.
I think teaching is one of the most noble and valuable professions, and sadly I feel teachers are often treated poorly in the western world.

What is your preferred mode of remote communication?
I mostly use discord – I am fine with any remote communication and willing to use whatever works for the team.
What are your communication strengths?
Im not afraid to speak my mind and I feel like I do a pretty good job and breaking the ice/tension. I would like to imagine I can create engaging discussions.
What are your communication weaknesses? Where would you like to grow?
Sometimes my brain randomly wanders off into the abyss so I can get off track conversationally or miss important details.
Do you consider yourself an introvert or extrovert?
My girlfriend calls me an agoraphobic extrovert – do with that what you will.
What time zone are you in?
Pacific
What time of day do you prefer doing academic work?
Im more of an afternoon learner – but I do wake up pretty early and am flexible on when we can work together.
When you are upset do you tend to share this with others or keep it to yourself?
I am vocal about how I feel and would like an open line of communication about things,
What do you like about group work?
Seeing others perspectives on the same problem.
What don’t you like about group work?
Scheduling.
What else would you like your team to know?
Im a bit busy at the start of the semester but I will make myself available.
For our initial meeting with Mary any time on Friday works, or The morning slot on Monday / Wednesday, as well as the noon slot on Wednesday.
